Deb Singh is a Toronto-based writer and consultant. Working for 20 years within the gender-based violence sector at the Toronto Rape Crisis Centre and the Ontario Coalition of Rape Crisis Centres, Deb brings a unique perspective on education, equity, diversity, inclusion and conflict management. Deb implores a feminist, anti-oppression politic creating innovative ideas and solutions to your organization’s needs, using the tools of neuroplasticity and transformative justice. Providing talks and panel discussions, small to large scale trainings, conflict mediation, consulting services and event planning, Deb brings nuance and complexity to the table in ways that support learning and positive cultural shifts in work places and beyond. Deb is a cisgender, queer, Indo-Caribbean mom who’s a settler on Turtle Island and is polyamourous. While Deb runs with the unicorns, she also takes transit like the majority of the people.
Deb obtained her undergraduate degree in Sociology and Political Science at University of Toronto in the early 2000s. Deb’s education is derived from community-based social work, lived experience and working with and listening to community. She’s continues to learn from young people while building and maintaining relationships with community leaders, other consultants, children, youth and elders from many different communities.
